Tina Knowles Defends Beyoncé Against Critics Following Halftime Performance

Tina Knowles, the mother of global icon Beyoncé, has once again stepped in to protect her daughter from the harsh criticism that often comes with the territory of stardom. After Beyoncé's much-anticipated halftime performance at the NFL game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans on Christmas Day, the pop superstar faced a wave of negative commentary from some online trolls. As always, Tina Knowles wasn’t having it.

On December 27, the 70-year-old shared her thoughts on Instagram, criticizing those who took time out of their Christmas Day to watch a performance they clearly didn’t enjoy. “It is mind-boggling to me that you would take your precious Christmas day and watch a performance of someone you hate and you don’t think has talent,” Tina wrote, clearly frustrated. “So that you can go talk trash about it later.”

Tina didn’t hold back, calling out these so-called "trolls" for being "obsessed" with her daughter. “Obviously, you are so obsessed with them, addicted to them, and secretly admire them, wish you could be them, that you cannot help but to watch and critique and comment and say dumb ridiculous stuff that makes you look like a joke!!”

The halftime performance at NRG Stadium in Houston was a highly anticipated event, not only because of Beyoncé’s electrifying presence but also because it marked the debut of several songs from her latest album, Cowboy Carter, which was a significant milestone in her musical journey. The performance featured an unforgettable medley of her hits, along with a special appearance from her 12-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, and guest appearances by Post Malone and Shaboozey.

To those who criticized her daughter’s performance, Tina suggested they simply turn the channel during halftime, jokingly recommending they watch “goofy cartoons or Bozo the Clown or something you can relate to and see yourself in.” This tongue-in-cheek response was a perfect example of Tina’s fierce defense of her daughter.

In her post, Tina reflected on the lessons she has learned from Beyoncé’s “warrior spirit.” She shared how Beyoncé’s ability to push through negativity inspires her own determination. “When they go low, I work harder,” Tina remarked, a phrase that speaks to the strength and resilience shared by both mother and daughter.

Tina’s post garnered support from many, including LeToya Luckett, one of Beyoncé’s former Destiny’s Child bandmates, who commented with a simple yet powerful “Period!!! Ms. T.”

In addition to standing up for Beyoncé, Tina also shared her pride in Blue Ivy’s growing talent. She posted a video of her granddaughter showing off her high-kick technique on the football field, captioning it with “Yes, I am a proud grandma.”

This moment in the ongoing saga of Beyoncé’s career further underscores the strong bond between mother and daughter, as well as the immense support Beyoncé continues to receive from her family. As Beyoncé continues to rise above the noise and set new standards in music and performance, it’s clear her mother will always be there, ready to fight back against any negativity that comes their way.

In a world where online trolls often reign supreme, Tina Knowles’ unwavering support for her daughter is a reminder of the importance of family loyalty and resilience in the face of criticism.
