Versions are different in VS code about screen and code --version in the termianl

when i type "code --version" in the terminal it says version is 1.99.3 but when I look at through help --> about the version is 1.85.1. how to fix?

In help > check for update. Downloaded a file. I do not how to execute the downloaded zip file so that the version in help file upgraded to latest version

There shouldn't be any need to directly execute any file.

After clicking "Check for Update" does it change to "Restart to Update"? If it does, click that and VS Code will update itself. Hope that helps.
